Barry Herman Medley
Barry Herman Medley was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on August 24, 1949. He graduated from McMinnville City High School with honors in 1967. Mr. Medley attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and in 1971 earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management. After graduating from the University of Tennessee Mr. Medley volunteered for the United States Coast Guard Reserve and served two years active duty. He then attended Law School at Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1977. In the same year, he was licensed to practice law by the Tennessee Supreme Court and began practicing law with Robert E. Bonner, Jr. Mr. Medley is a sustaining member of the Tennessee Association for Justice and the Warren County Bar Association. He is a past president of the Warren County Bar Association. Mr. Medley is a charter member and past president of the McMinnville Breakfast Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellows. Mr. Medley is a past president of the University of Tennessee alumni Chapter of Warren County. In 1982 Mr. Medley was elected to an 8 year term as General Sessions Judge of Warren County where he exercised General Sessions Juvenile and Domestic Relations Jurisdiction. In 1990 Mr. Medley was elected to a second 8 year term as General Sessions Judge of Warren County with the addition of Workers' Compensation Jurisdiction. In 1998 Mr. Medley began a private practice of law and in 1999 the law firm of Farrar, Holliman and Medley was established. Mr. Medley practices Social Security Disability, Workers' Compensation, Motor Vehicle law and does the appellate work for the law firm. Mr. Medley is listed by the TN Supreme Court as a Rule 31 Listed General Civil & Family Mediator. Mr. Medley is an avid golfer and an accomplished singer and songwriter and performs at various charity events locally. Barry and his wife Jackie are the proud parents of a daughter named Kate. Mr. Medley is corporate counsel for Ben Lomand Rural Telephone Cooperative.
